Quote of the Week

“To be yourself in a world that is constantly trying to make you something else is the greatest accomplishment.”

Ralph Waldo Emerson

  1. Yes, stay true to yourself but let the world change you also. Because our true self is who we want to become and not simply the state we are currently in. Often the world can help us to realize this so it’s good to pause and consider whether this or that external influence might actually be moving us towards something we ourselves would rather have.

  2. Be true to yourself, know and find yourself, all these philosophical musings…things come along in life, some make us happy, some cause suffering. They all teach us something about ourselves. What is our purpose in life? What makes us happy? Huge questions. Are we aware enough to learn from them so we can then make choices on our journey that are going to be positive…not to be afraid to be yourself, to stick out from the crowd, to do your own thing if you are passionate enough about it. Takes a lifetime…something far deeper brings contentment, not this material world.

  4. Hardly ever would we think something so profound would come from a guy named Ralph.
    Ralph, ‘you done good.’
This present existence is plagued by those whose purpose is to make us something we are not, and worse, entirely too many don’t realize it and fall right into the their web of lies.
Thanks for the breath of fresh air.
